A resident benefit you can advertise

Porchswing Tech Café

At a frequency of your choosing, our technician sets up in your common room for 3 hours. Residents drop in with their devices and their questions. Your staff stays focused on care.

Plans from $375 a month · 6-month and 12-month agreements available.

How it works

You pick the day

A day and time that fits your calendar — not ours.

We set up for 3 hours

One technician, in your common room. Residents come and go, so a single tech helps a whole lot of people.

You get a report

A monthly note on what we fixed, including any scams we caught.

For your community, not just your residents

Tech support is already happening at your community.

It’s just being done by whoever’s closest, between other jobs, without the training or the insurance for it. The Café doesn’t add something to your plate — it takes something off it.

Your staff get their afternoons back

The same handful of questions come up every week from a dozen different residents, and they land on whoever is nearest — an activity director between events, a care aide who happens to be good with phones. The Café gives those questions a time and a place that isn't your team.

Nobody untrained has to touch a bank app

Right now someone kind and unqualified is being asked about passwords, bank alerts, and suspicious emails. That's a risk you're carrying without meaning to. We're trained for it and insured for it, the resident stays present for anything involving money, and we never store passwords.

Fewer calls from families

“My mother can't video call me” lands on your front desk the moment it happens. When the tablet works, the call doesn't come — and the family who would have complained tells a friend instead.

Something real to say on a tour

Prospective families ask what you do about technology. “We help when we can” isn't an answer. “A technician is here every other Tuesday, and there's a class every month” is.

Move-in week goes better

TV, Wi-Fi, phone, and email working before the boxes are unpacked. It's the difference between a first week spent frustrated and a first week spent settling in — and it's the week families judge you on.

Proof at budget time

A monthly report showing what we fixed and what scams we caught. When your executive director asks what this line item bought, the answer is already written down.

And underneath all of it: a resident who can video call a grandchild, manage their own appointments, and read their own email is a resident who feels capable. That shows up in their mood, in how often they join things, and in how they describe living here to the people considering it.

What residents bring to the table

  • Video calls with family on a tablet or phone
  • Phone basics: calls, texts, and photos
  • Email, passwords, and new apps
  • Pairing hearing aids to a phone
  • Spotting scam calls, texts, and emails

TVs and other in-room tech need a private apartment visit — that’s an add-on below, and we’ll tell a resident so on the spot rather than fiddling with it at the desk.

Community plans

Pick whichever plan suits your calendar and your budget. The resident numbers below are our recommendation, based on how many people tend to turn up at a desk — they’re guidance, not a rule, and they don’t set the price. If you want fortnightly visits for a hundred residents, that’s your call to make.
